adidas and Beyonce Part Ways
Citing creative differences, it has been announced today that Beyonce; winner of a record-breaking 32 Grammy Awards and German powerhouses adidas have parted ways.
In 2018, Beyoncé entered a creative partnership with Adidas, where she relaunched her Ivy Park activewear line and also developed new footwear and apparel for the brand.
But there has apparently been major creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas, and Beyoncé is excitedly looking to reclaim her brand, chart her own path and maintain creative freedom.
Back in January 2018, Beyoncé's launched her first-ever Adidas Ivy Park collection that included the Ultra Boost below, as well as two Nite Jogger styles.
For the second drop adidas were quoted as saying:
"Beyoncé’s first collection with adidas Originals was a hit when it dropped in January. Back then, Bey’s attention was on the Nite Jogger, a reinterpretation of the Samba, and the Ultra Boost. This time, Queen Bey has reworked the Nite Jogger once again, and added the Forum Low and Mid to her rotation — widely known to be her favorite adidas sneaker of all time."
Then back in 2020 we saw the Beyonce designed Adidas Superstar 50th Anniversary Edition sell out in a mind-blowing 10 minutes across the sportswear giant’s stores worldwide after unprecedented demand!
It's safe to say this is certainly sad news to see the end of the partnership that gave the sneaker community some iconic drops, but with her Renaissance Worldwide Tour this year, it certainly won't be quiet from team Queen Bey!
