The Air Jordan 4 'Frozen Moments' Is As Pure As It Gets
Thanks to Ben Affleck's Air, the world is even more into Michael Jordan and his storied career, and the upcoming Nike Air Jordan 4 ‘Frozen Moments’ pays homage to the very beginning.
GQ via their website said: It's hard to imagine that His Airness was, at one point, just a rookie who was deemed “too short” to play professionally. It's silly. While we love celebrating his biggest achievements, like his many NBA champions, Finals MVPs, and, of course, his two Olympic gold medals, these Air Jordans are inspired by the early ‘90s when he was just getting started – more specifically, Nike’s ‘Frozen Moment’ commercial that showcased what it was like to watch MJ play.
Extremely clean and simple in its design, the ‘Frozen Moments’ is painted in a ‘Light Iron Ore’ and ‘Neutral Grey’ colour palette. Working on top of a smooth leather base, the sneaker is overlaid by suede across the upper, while glossy panels wrap around the mudguard section. Like your classic AJ4, the heel badge is crafted from durable rubber. However, unlike your classic AJ4, the lacing system is accented in chrome that's very shiny, and very eye-catching, and very, very icy.
The Air Jordan 4's 35th anniversary is coming up around the corner, and to celebrate this big, big birthday, Jumpman has some pretty major releases lined up. Not only is the ‘Red Cement’ dropping later this season, the OG ‘Military Blue’ is also set to make a comeback. On top of that, rumour has it that the legendary ‘Bred’ will be returning as part of the ultra hyped ‘Reimagined’ line, which very recently launched the Air Jordan 1 High ‘Chicago’ and the Air Jordan 3 ‘White Cement.’
Releasing on August 26, the Air Jordan 4 ‘Frozen Moments’ will be available at Nike and select retailers globally for £180 a pop.
