This Week's Sneaker Drops

We're set for another cracking week of launches in the sneaker world, take a closer look at what's dropping this week!

Air Jordan 1 Mid Purple Chenille

This tasteful edition of the Air Jordan 1 Mid sees Jordan Brand dressing up the silhouette in a range of purple tones. The usual leather construction is used on the side walling and toe box, with the darker purple panelling boasting a textured finish. The chenille elements are introduced on both the Swoosh and ankle collar portions, adding a new level of intricacy to this mid-cut AJ1. The sail midsole and tongue complement the purple hues on this iteration, while the outsole below focuses on the darker tones used on the chenille elements above.

Loaded with interesting materials and textures, this classic silhouette has been given a contemporary spin by the Jordan Brand design team, making for a solid general release.

Yeezy 700 V2 Static

The retro-inspired adidas trainers feature a breathable mesh base, giving a comfortable and lightweight experience present through most of Ye's Yeezy Boost shoes. A mix of leather and suede embraces the upper, with 3M reflective trims added onto prominent areas to elevate its looks.

As for the colour arrangement of this Yeezy 700, a neutral grey tone predominantly coats the entire shoe, with cream leather panels and a white chunky Boost midsole housing the upper and delivering a pop of contrast. Branding is kept minimal, with only co-branding details visible on the insoles.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Wolf Grey Anthracite

A matte black finish on the midsole highlights the grey panelling on the upper, its bold contrast complementing the darker hits of branding. Mixing together a combination of leather and suede, this pair will certainly last you through the darker months ahead, although they are not as well equipped as the GORE-TEX versions. A canvas finish on the tongue and heel tab plays into the utilitarian aesthetic while adding another layer of detail, one that ties this edition back to the previously mentioned Ultra Jacquard AM95s. As with all Air Force 1s, you’ll want to go down at least half a size, but make sure to check out our in-depth size guide for more tips.

Air Jordan 4 Retro Frozen Moments

Gearing up to be one of Jordan Brand’s biggest releases for 2023, this Air Jordan 4 could be an ice-cold addition to your rotation. Inspired by Nike’s “Frozen Moment” commercial from ’96, the 30-second run time details a Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan gliding through the air in a pair of Air Jordan 12 “Taxi”. Spliced between MJ’s manoeuvres are scenes of people who are rooted to the spot, stunned by his magical on-court skills. Except for the jersey uniforms, the whole advert is seen through a grayscale filter, a detail referenced by the colour palette on this Air Jordan 4 Retro “Frozen Moments”.
