The Simpsons x adidas Stan Smith Homer Simpson

adidas reunites with the iconic franchise, The Simpsons, to create what could be the most meme-worthy shoe of all time. Known across the world for its comical cartoon take on the traditional American family, the Matt Groening-created TV show has continued to leave its footprints across culture over the past three-plus decades.

The upcoming The Simpsons x Adidas Stan Smith ‘Homer’ pays tribute to one of the greatest in the history of the internet. A collaboration that first leaked all the way back in September of last year, after ten months of waiting, we finally have an official release date.

From a distance, this Stan Smith may seem like any other, and that's a highly positive aspect. The trainer features a full leather construction, sporting a 'Cloud White' color with perforations on the sides, both lateral and medial. Additionally, Homer's name is elegantly debossed in gold foil.

The rubber midsole, coated in a vintage-like 'Cream White' shade, adds to its aged charm, while the heel pays tribute to the original 1965 tennis sneaker with an accent in 'Green.' Unlike the traditional leather heel badge that has been present for nearly six decades, this version incorporates a soft fleecy material. In this design, we can observe an emotionless Homer making a subtle appearance, gradually sinking into the bush.

This legendary scene originates from Season 5 of the animated sitcom. In Episode 16 – titled “Homer Loves Flanders” – Homer creeps back into the bushes when Ned Flanders declines his invite to spend the day together. This episode made its debut all the way back in 1994, but it didn't actually enter meme lore until 2012 when it spread like wildfire across Tumblr.

Set to release on the 18th of August 2023, The Simpsons x Adidas Stan Smith ‘Homer’ collab will be available at Adidas, the Confirmed app, and select retailers worldwide around £90 each.
