The Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘UNC Toe’ is the next big classic grail sneaker

After what felt like an endless wait (which equates to approximately half a year in the world of sneaker enthusiasts), the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'UNC Toe' has finally arrived. Throughout the past 38 years, countless Jordan releases have graced the market, but the colorways inspired by Michael Jordan's college journey at the University of North Carolina consistently rank among the most coveted.

As part of the Jordan Brand Summer 2023 collection, the 'UNC Toe' joins the lineup as one of the latest trainers to hit the shelves. Devoted fans of the classic Jumpman aesthetic will undoubtedly draw comparisons between the 'UNC Toe' and the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Obsidian' from 2019, as their colorblocking bears striking similarities. Constructed entirely from premium leather, this iteration features a white base with black panelling adorning the front, lacing system, and iconic Swoosh.

The collar, heel, and toebox of the Air Jordan 1 showcase varying shades of light blue, a tribute to the official colors of the University of North Carolina. To complete the design, the AJ1 is equipped with Nike Air midsole, which remains unchanged since its debut in the 1980s.

The Air Jordan 1 has been enjoying an incredibly successful year, captivating sneaker enthusiasts with sought-after colorways like the 'Lucky Green' and 'Washed Black.' Moreover, we've been treated to some exceptionally unique releases, such as the 'Lost & Found' edition and the collaboration with Spider-Man. Despite being a flagship silhouette for over four decades, Michael Jordan's iconic shoe continues to be revered as one of the greatest basketball sneakers ever created. The recent inclusion of Ben Affleck's Air Jordan 1 only solidifies its enduring popularity. Rest assured, the legacy of this remarkable silhouette is here to stay.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘UNC Toe’ will be released on the 22nd of July and will be available at Nike.com and selected stockist globally for £165.
